The pillars have departed putting the big void permanently. The torch bearer to the media persons Mr PG Srinivasamurthy departure was all of a sudden. A very decent personality indeed had a decent death without much of struggle while giving. He did not give trouble to anyone and died without any trouble.

The stalwarts like KS Ashwath, Chindodi Leela, BS Ranga, journalists BMK and BV Vaikunta Raju passed away with huge stock. They were all eminent journalists and PGS was a ‘Annavru of film Media’.


DR K.S.ASHWATH – MESHTRU GOES AFTER STUDENT!

It is yet another inseparable loss to Kannada cinema industry. The 85 years old veteran actor who was like institution in acting department the most simple, disciplined, dedicated Dr K.A.Ashwath died early morning on Monday (18th of January 2010) at BM Hospital in Mysore. He was suffering from ill health from last six days. The supply of blood to brain nerves was the difficult problem for the ‘Chamaiah Meshtru’. Ashwath came to cinema at the mid 30’s and for nearly four and half decades he acted in variety of roles. He is known for dialogue delivery and histrionics that were so perfect.


STILL APPU LIFE HALTS!

A day before the death of Dr KS Ashwath a popular still photographer of nearly 200 Kannada films ‘Still Appu’ alias Nagdev died of severe heart attack at the age of 39 at 6.30 am in the morning in his 6th block Rajajinagar residence. He was cremated at TR Mills on Sunday evening.


CHINDODI LEELA – PILLAR THEATRE DEPATS!

One of the pillars of theatre in Karnataka, actress of Kannada films Padmashri award winner, Gubbi Veeranna award winner, former Sangeeth Nataka Academy chief Chindodi Leela passed away on Thursday night at Wockhardt hospital in Bangalore. She was 74. The celebrity of theatre and films Chindodi Leela will be placed for public darshan at Gubbi Veeranna Rangamandira in Bangalore. On Saturday the cremation will take place at Tavarekere village in Shanker Leela garden of the legend. She has a permanent place in the theatre history.

Art director Sathyanarayana died in Bangalore, Cameraman Surendranath Begur, veteran journalist, B.V.Vaikunta Raju.

Editor of 45 films SHIVAPRAKASH aged 45 died of heart attack on 15th February – Sheetal Sheevu he was known worked for Picnic, Kullara Loka and other films as editor

ACTOR BK SHANKER DIED OF JAUNDICE!

Well known comedy actor of over 200 films BK Shanker who figured in almost all the heroes of Kannada cinema died on Friday in his native place Gadag. Aged 55 plus BK Shanker a veteran in comedy roles using the Hubli-Dharwad accent of Kannada beautifully in his films suffered from Jaundice. He has not noticed his disease is the main cause of death.

PRO VIJAYAKUMAR MOTHER YASHODHAMMA NO MORE

One of the prominent PRO’s of Kannada cinema Vijayakumar is really feeling orphaned with the passing of his mother Yashodhamma. Yashodhamma was everything to Vijayakumar. The sacrifice saga of mother and son is extremely good in life. Vijayakumar PRO of over 200 Kannada films without getting married taken care of his mother and his mother Yashodhamma did not leave any short falls in mother affection.

PRODUCER JAGANNATH DEPARTS

Humble and simple producer Jagannath of ‘A’, Hagaluvesha, Surya the Great, Agrahara, Arbhata aged 52 years died on Friday night due to kidney failure. He was taking dialysis treatment for both the kidneys for quite some time but ‘Javaraya’ called him yesterday night.

ACTOR INDHUDHAR AND WIFE HEMA COMMITTED SUICIDE

Actor of Kannada cinema the 45 years of age Indudhar and his wife Hema Indudhar passed away in Bangalore. While Indudhar killed (it is learnt) his wife and he committed suicide leaving a suicide chit in his fourth block Jayanagar residence in Bangalore.
The reason attributed to the cause of suicide is steep loans of the couple. It was learnt from sources they were frequently quarrelling at home on the financial matters. The couple had no issues and reached Bangalore after USA trip some months ago.

RATHNAKAR DEPARTS!

Another prominent Mysorean after departure of K.S.Ashwath and prior to it Dr Vishnuvardhana – KM Rathnakar the unforgettable comedian died on Tuesday at Mission Hospital after prolonged illness – breathing problem and kidney failure.

ACTOR MURALI ERA ENDS!

The Jeevana Parva of ‘Prema Parva’ debut hero of Kannada cinema Murali son of stalwart director Siddalingaiah who made it big in Tamil films acting in 70 plus films winning awards has come to an end on today morning. He was all set to comeback after a small exile in ‘En Raasi Nalla Raasi’ (My star is good star). It is absolutely wrong title for the real life as the death came for him at a very early age. He was born on 19th May 1964.

VAISHALI KASARAVALLI ‘ADRUSHYA FROM ‘DRUSHYA’ HOUSE!

The proud wife of Dr Girish Kasaravalli – Smt Vaishali Kasaravalli, actress, television director, national and state award winning personality breathed her last at 5.15 pm on Monday evening at Maruthi Manipal Hospital in Jayanagar 9th block near Ragi Gudda.

MV KRISHNASWAMY DEPARTS

The nonagenarian film maker M.V.Krishnaswamy the recent V Shantharam award winner died at his Malleswaram residence on Saturday in Bangalore. Two of his films ‘Indian Imprints’ and ‘India 5555′ were screened at the seven-day-long festival in Mumbai organized by 11th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF)


NAVEEN MAYOOR DEAD ANOTHER WICKET FALLS IN FILMDOM!

This time a youngster Naveen Mayoor kicked the bucket on Monday due to severe jaundice. He was in the thirties of his age but failed to reach the sheet anchor position in films.

Actor Naveen Mayoor who loved controversy more than his films in a career of ten years has acted in around 10 films with a gap of a few years.

VETERAN FILM JOURNALIST PG SRINIVASAMURTHY DEPARTS

With great pain and displeasure we are made to announce that our best colleague P.G.Srinivasamurthy the encyclopedia of Kannada cinema the pillar around us aged 79 years died early morning.

The walking encyclopedia on Kannada cinema the major impetus to innumerable journalists PGS he is affectionately known is highly qualified in those days. Born in 1931 February 18 a Mysorean intermediate qualified PGS had seen the growth of Kannada cinema along with his highly respected profession in Madras USIS and in journalism.

SMT LAKSHMAMMA - GRAND OLD LADY FIRST OF FIVE GENERATION DEPARTS

The root of five generations Smt Lakshmamma the oldest in the closets of Dr Rajakumar family died after two days of illness at the age of 97 in the residence of SA Chinne Gowda in Rajajinagar Bangalore.

Smt Lakshmamma, mother of Smt Parvathamma Rajakumar, Lakshmi Govindaraj, Saraswathi and her child is the order of five generations in the family.

The senior most belonging to South Indian cinema – cameraman, producer and director who had stint in Tamil and Telugu films died after four years of battle for survival. The final call came today Sunday for this doyen of five languages film maker. Besides producing, directing and doing cinematography he was instrumental in bringing latest technology to Kannada cinema in those days.


On 27th of December music director Seetharam BV have passed away.
